Santorini has been my home since 2000. Although I never expected to end up here, and when I arrived I wanted to leave immediately, I got well and truly stuck. Santorini has that effect on you.
When I left Cyprus for Greece (my home town is Limassol), my destination of choice was unknown. All I said was “I’m never going to live on an island again – where the only way to travel to another country is by plane or ship.” And yet here I still am, after so many years, on not only an island but one of the tiniest islands in the Southern Cyclades – in the Aegean – in the middle of nowhere.
Never say Never because Never is a very long time
.. And the Gods laughed
If this is prison, LOCK ME UP! :)
hehehehehe :) did you know a few decades back that they used Santorini as an open prison for political prisoners? There was no way to escape – sorta like Alcatraz. And then the tourists came and they stopped doing it :) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Wow! I did not know that. This is why everyone should travel more, so that we can learn more about each other’s history.
I just nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award
Yes the God’s laughed and envied you at the same time ; )

Hi Joanna
Thanks for following my blog and liking my posts. I love Santorini! How have you pulled off living there year round and how do you find it? In other words, what’s your secret? :-)
Hi:) Well you have to change your mind-set – what you thought you needed and what you really need. In the beginning I was “throwing stones” but after a while I settled in and now I can’t imagine living anywhere else (famous last words – never say never :)
very inspiring blog …congrat…If I come by santorini , I may visit you…
