Santorini Red Bull Art of Motion

He Did It Again & Made Us Proud!

I’m a bit late with this, sorry about that. The competition was last Saturday (3rd of October 2015) but I’d completely forgotten about it. I was doodling ’round the house, turned on the TV, and there it was – live. And Oia is only 20 minutes drive from my area. Chalk it up to habitual idiocy.

Dimitris Kyrsanidis won the Santorini Red Bull Art of Motion competition for the 2nd year running. He is now the Top Freerunner in the World. This year was the 5th annual event held on the island. The Place? the exquisite white-washed village of Oia. Enthusiastic spectators lined the Caldera cheering as heavenly bodies flew above rooftops, back-flipped from path to path and bounded effortlessly over the smooth white domes of Santorini.

These guys – and girls, are simply amazing.

Go Greece – Go Dimitri!

Winners popped champagne, the crowds went mad and a thunderous applause came from hundreds of Greeks who travelled from every corner of Greece to witness history in the making. Next year’s wishlist just got a bit longer – Dimitris makes a hat trick.
